Career
In 1991, Devgn began his professional career at Phool Aur Kaante and received a Filmfare Award for Best Male First. He helped with Madhoo. In his opening scene, Devgn split in two motorcycles. His next film was Jigar, a Bollywood martial arts film starring Karisma Kapoor.
He was released on the weekend of Diwali and became the seventh highest-earning film of this year, taking 7 crore at the box office.
In 1993, Devgn starred in Dil Hai Betaab, a film about a love triangle and romantic themes such as revenge. He then played in Divya Shakti, then Sangram, a story of enmity between two fathers.
Devgan then worked with Deepak Bahry, who directed the action movie Ek Hi Raasta, and Deepak Pawar, who directed Platform. The other outings this year were Shaktiman, Dhanwan and Bedardi.
In 1994, Devgn starred in the romantic action film Harry Baweja Dilwale. He played the role of Arun Saxena, a man with an intellectual disability. |
