Vasundhara's films include Hey Ram (Tamil / Hindi), Monsoon Wedding (English), Citizen (Tamil / Telugu), Ravana Prabhu (Malayalam), Lankesh Patrike (Kannada) and many others. In 1999, Vasundhara started playing with Kamal Hassan in the movie Hey Ram. She played the lead actress alongside Mohanlal in the Malayalam movie Raavana Prabhu, with Ajith Kumar in the movie Tamil Citizen and with Darshan in the movie Kannada Lankesh Patrike. She also starred in Mira Nair's movie, Monsoon Wedding.

She began her singing career with AR Rahman's Tamil film Mudhalvan, for which she sang the song "Shakalaka Baby", winning the Best Female Singer Filmfare 2001 Award. She has a French single in France called L ' Indian summer in collaboration with the Parisian studio Citrus. She was a founding member of Arya, a world music group that performed in Europe and America and split in 2004.
