First day box office collection of The Sidharth Malhotra & Parineeti Chopra starrer Jabariya Jodi has a very poor opening day. The film was expected to open in the range of 3-4 crores. Jabariya Jodi has collected approx 03.15 crore on day 1.
Based on groom kidnappings in Bihar, where the groom is kidnapped to avoid dowry, the film has Siddharth Malhotra playing a thug who helps kidnap grooms. It also features Parineeti Chopra in a prominent role.
The film has seen a decent release for itself and also benefits from the fact that there is no real competition around it. Jabariya Jodi has a good dose of light humour that makes the film somewhat entertaining. Also, the dialogues are funny and catchy.
The Prashant Singh's direction venture Jabariya Jodi has becomes the 19th highest opening day grosser of 2019. The opening of the film was lower than that of the recent Judgementall Hain Kya and Junglee but much better than Sonakshi Sinha starrer Khandaani Shafakhana.
