Kader Khan is an actor, scriptwriter, actor and director of African-Canadian Indian descent. As an actor, he appeared in more than 300 films after his first film in the 1973 film Daag in which he acted as a prosecutor.He was also a prolific screenwriter for Bollywood films in the 1970s and 1980s. Khan graduated from Ismail Yusuf College affiliated with the University of Bombay. Prior to entering the film industry in the early 1970s, he taught Mr. Saboo Siddik Engineering College in Mumbai as a professor of civil engineering.
Khan was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. His father was Abdul Rahman Khan of Kandahar while his mother was Iqbal Begum of Pishin, British India. Khan had three brothers Shams Ur Rehman, Fazal Rehman and Habib Ur Rehman. He is an ethnic Pashtun of the Kakar tribe.He is a Haffiz-e-Quran.He enrolled in a local municipal school and later at Ismail Yusuf College, after which he earned a Master of Engineering (MIE) from the Institution of Engineers specializing in Civil Engineering. Between 1970 and 1975, he taught Mr. Saboo Siddik Engineering School in Byculla as a professor of civil engineering. While playing in a room in the College's Annual Day function, he was noticed by actor Dilip Kumar who signed it for his next film. |

Khan has appeared in more than 300 films in Hindi and Urdu, and has written dialogues for more than 250 Indian films from the 1970s to the early twenty-first century. [8] Manmohan Desai paid him a nice sum of a lakh twenty-one thousand for writing dialogues for the film Roti (1974). He is best known for his work with actor Jeetendra, Feroz Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda and in David Dhawan's films.
He worked side by side with other comedians like Shakti Kapoorand Johnny Lever. He has played a wide variety of roles in such films as a supporting role of a father, uncle, brother, lead villain or villain, guest actor and an actor.
He recently appeared in Tevar (2015), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Lucky: No Time for Love (2006) and Family: Ties of Blood (2006). He played in his own television comedy series called Hasna Mat, which aired on Star Plus. He made a return to Indian television with a comedy series Hi! Padosi ... Kaun Hai Doshi? on Sahara One.
As a screenwriter, Kader Khan worked with Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra for their films with Amitabh Bachchan. Besides Amitabh, he was the only one working in the rival camps of Mehra and Desai. His films with them include Ganga Jamuna Saraswati, Sharaabi, Coolie, Desh Premee, Lawaaris, Suhaag, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Parvarish and Amar Akbar Anthony.
Other films by Amitabh Bachchan for which he has written dialogues are Mr. Natwarlal, Khoon Pasina, Do Aur Do Paanch, Satte Pe Satta, Inquilab, Giraftaar, Hum and Agneepath. Khan also wrote screenplays for movies starring Amitabh as Agneepath and Naseeb.
Other successful films for which he has written dialogues include Himmatwala, Coolie No. 1, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Kanoon Apna Apna, Khoon Bhari Maang, Karma, Sultanate, Sarfarosh, Justice Chaudhury and Dharam Veer |
